BookXcess makes Malaysian proud! While I do not notice how many people nor book lovers shop here, cause BX does not typically carry any latest nor current titles. The interiors, are truly amazing.
👍🏼
1) I could not believe that this outlet has a bedroom lighting setup, where I could really see patrons, not reading anything, but falling asleep.
2) A great place for anyone to come here to hang out from 1000-2200 without buying anything nor doing anything much. Ideal for jobseekers, retirees etc, without paying to join a public or private library.
3) The books are only available for reading once the payment is made, cause they are wrapped. Which is a good approach, or else, who is paying for the lease, utilities of BX?
4) Large, with options to snacks and beverage inside.
5) Ideal place to host activities related to hobbies, arts etc.
👎🏼
6) Large, and confusing. For a serious reader, a floor directory would help.
7) Since so many are hanging out, sleeping here, could feel really weird for a serious book shopper.
8) The bedroom lighting setup spot feels, spooky.

One thing they deserved a credit for is how they decorate the place. Variety of books category. They even have a mini cafe inside it. Keep up the good effort!

I have been there twice with friends and many kids. We loved the experience of being surrounded by lots of books. The variety of books is great and the prices are very reasonable for books in English. If we did not have luggage concerns we would have bought more. The coffee and cakes are good in the cafe and the sitting area is quiet to read and rest. The bookstore is designed really nicely with some art work around. The piano is a great bonus which attracted my kids to go for the second time in 2 weeks. Though a few keys of the piano are not working.
One suggestion would be leaving a few books for people to discover and read for free in the cafe area.

What caught my eye about this bookstore was that it looks like an art exhibition from the outside. I was drawn in by the cool interiors that the bookstore has and couldn’t help but to notice the Winnie the Pooh statue at the entrance. This bookstore is really big and offer a wide selection of books. Honestly I don’t think I’ve been to a bookstore with this kind of concept. Every corner of the bookstore makes you curious and there’s even a piano in the middle of the bookstore 🤯 Definitely an interesting concept, come visit if you have the time even if you’re not planing to buy books 🙂

Im not an avid reader compared with my friend. This book store is huge.
Im still exploring the vast variety of book selling here.
Reading corner is in front of the cashier, after i ordered a cup of coffee i could sit there to read my ebook. The back ground music and talking is not really a quiet place. But this is expected since this is not a public library.
I dont know how they could maintain a huge place like this with numbers of art piece display.
I like this place because there in a lift accessible directly from the car park to this bookstore. And several unique store and convenient stores is within this shopping mall. Saving some time in this sense.

We absolutely love all BookXcess stores! These massive bookstores, with their stunning designs and maze-like shelves, offer an incredible selection of affordable English books for all ages—a true paradise for book lovers. Our favourite location is the one in Lalaport Mall. It’s air-conditioned, spacious, and easy to navigate, with friendly staff and even a piano for passing musicians to play. We had a fantastic time browsing (and buying!) books there. If you plan to visit regularly, consider joining their membership—it’s definitely worth it!

Another maze-like bookstore with hidden books and crannies, unexpected corners and shapes. Some parts look downright retro. Mixed materials like wood, aluminium, stucco, etc. Like the others, there's a cafe inside. There are also places to study, but it isn't exactly a quiet with background music playing and a piano.

Definitely one of book xcess' more interesting outlets. This concept is museum-ish and I'm glad that even though they were going for the experience and aesthetics, the selection of books available was amazing. I did not go back empty handed.
Perhaps owing to the huge space they have, they're able to stock various selections for different genres. To my surprise they even have a number of shelves dedicated to crime, mystery and thriller, and at the time I went, they have even recent releases from just a couple of years back, of course at highly discounted prices.
There's even a secluded area for you to work in. It seems very private but apparently a lot of people know about it already since it was full the time I visited. If you're a book lover, this should be on your must-visit list!
