Surprisingly good! Grocery stores’ bakeries often get a bad rap as being mediocre or even bad/tasteless sugary carbs :/ The Daily Butter is so good & steps above a typical grocery store bakery that it really should be out as its own company! Tried DB after having butter croissant (chocolate almond croissant & 2 other items at famous DONQ Japanese French bakery across the way, see my separate review for DONQ), & the butter croissant at Daily Butter is better/closer to what you would expect from a classic French croissant! Although the butter croissant here could use a little more butter/butter aroma, the texture on the inside & outside is superior to what is achieved at DONQ - maybe they have a Japanese twist to fit Japanese preferences (less crispy flaky crust & inside a bit more doughy/chewy). Also has the cream pan here, nice vanilla custard inside that’s not at all too sweet. Prices are 1-3RM less than comparable items at DONQ few feet away. Bottom line - go to DONQ to buy what they don’t have at Daily Butter, but if your baked goods cravings can be satisfied at DB, skip DONQ :) Came back and got the purple potato pastry & red bean - cream cheese pastry. So good, buttery, crispy & not too sweet.
