We had a wonderful experience at Starchild Nursery. The teachers were incredibly friendly, caring, and attentive. We are just visiting KL, and it was my daughter’s first time going to a nursery. I could see that she felt comfortable and happy from the moment she arrived. She really enjoyed her time there, especially interacting and playing with the other children. Highly recommended and we would really go back again on our next visit.

We are so happy to find this place. Teachers are very nice and reliable. We felt comfortable to leave our 2year old baby even during our trip in Kuala Lumpur. They played with kids, taught so many things with activities, took them to many different places in Lalaport for indoor/outdoor activities. Kids love it. They gave us daily reports with pictures and videos. Very organized. We would definitely go back again on our next trip. Can’t wait! 😁

My daughter, Elinor, joined the holiday program at this center, and it has been a fantastic experience for her. The teachers are incredibly patient, kind, and attentive, ensuring that every child feels included and supported. Elinor not only made wonderful new friends but also gained confidence and enjoyed every moment here.
The environment is spotless, safe, and thoughtfully organized with engaging activities that keep the children entertained and learning at the same time. The staff go above and beyond to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere, making it a place we fully trust and appreciate.
We are so thankful to have found such a wonderful program, and I would highly recommend it to any parents looking for a nurturing and fun place for their kids!

🌟🌟 A Little Slice of Heaven in KL! 🌸
Konnichiwa to the most wonderful nursery in Kuala Lumpur! Our daughter spent a few months here, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the love, care, and magic this Japanese-inspired gem poured into her growth. From the moment we stepped in, we knew it was special—like a warm hug for tiny humans!
The teachers are pure sunshine 🌞—patient, attentive, and so full of heart. They celebrated every giggle, wiped every tear, and turned even snack time into a learning adventure.
What we loved most? The diversity of activities! From sensory play to cultural celebrations, every day was a new discovery. The mix of structure and creativity kept her curious mind thriving. Plus, the spotless, bright facilities and healthy meals gave us total peace of mind.
If you want a daycare that feels like family, where your child grows with kindness, joy, and a sprinkle of multicultural magic—this is the place! Arigatou gozaimasu for making our girl’s world brighter! 👧🏻💖

I cannot praise STARCHILD enough! Our kids were sooo happy with everything; staff, facilities, activities both creative and play. We felt so welcome and the kids loved going in the morning and hated leaving in the afternoon.

Non-inclusive school for deaf child with cochlear implants.
We went for the half day trial.
After following up with them on their decision whether to accept his enrollment, they decided not to proceed. You may see screenshot for reference. What surprised me is that even the staff (verbally) told me the teachers would forget to put back his cochlear implants and that she had to remind the teachers. Shouldn't the teachers be paying attention to ALL the students?
Though I understand where they are coming from, it is disappointing to see the non-inclusivity of the school.
For any parents considering this school, as of January 2025, they still have not sorted out the drop off situation for those driving.
You will need to park in Lalaport and walk over to the Preschool to drop off your child.
If you take the train, it'll be much easier since you don't need to park.
Furthermore, their drop off time is around 8:30am while pick up is 5 or 5:30pm (can't recall). It's not really convenient for working parents unless your working schedule is flexible.

We wanted to find a place which could be flexible for our kids and not having to commit for a whole semester.
The Starchild preschool is amazing and our kids loved it there. Also we saw a big progress in our kids while they attended the place.
Everything is new and the kids love the activities as they bring home all the craft and we get little videos of what they did during the day.

I don’t know what to think. We stopped by yesterday and they were unsure of everything from the tour, package and answering questions. It was so difficult to communicate with them due to their lack of English. The Japanese lady seems to be in charge and spoke no English at all. How do you put someone in charge that spoke absolutely no English or Malay??
We were trying to have our son go there few days a week while we stay in LaLaPort for few months…. But their lack of understanding English and confusion about their own packages got us so frustrated.
We only saw 2 Japanese children there. But anyways, what could have been an easy ongoing process now turned into a No. They were also trying to say WE have to be in KL for a year to put our kid in daycare?? That literally makes no sense.
We went in with high hopes because they have flexible schedule which is good for visitors, but left angry, annoyed and frustrated.
Sadly, we will not put my son there even if we stay in Lucentia residence right by it (we chose to stay at Lucentia because of this daycare place. 🤦🏻♂️)

I stayed in Malaysia for a short time. This time I used the Holiday Program (7-day program).
In conclusion, I'm really glad I chose Starchild.
They naturally adapt to the Malaysian environment from the Japanese environment. I was worried that a local international school would cause anxiety and stress for my children, and that they would say "I'm not going" in the morning, but my children enjoyed going there every day. Even when they came home, they said "I love Starchild, I love Mr. H," so I was able to leave my children there with peace of mind as a parent.
I was also happy that they provided Japanese food for lunch.
I was also happy as a parent that the records of my child's day (what they did, nap time, etc.) were properly recorded.
Above all, I was impressed that they have succeeded in importing the Japanese childcare standard to this country. It is also very attractive that you can use it on a spot basis (1 day use). I really recommend it to those who have small children in Malaysia and for short study abroad for children. Thank you very much to everyone at Starchild! !
