Overall okay with good product selections, but the choice of song is offputting. Doesn’t suit the vibes of a Jap shop
3COINS Lalaport BBCC marks the Japanese lifestyle brand's historic debut in Malaysia, opening its first Southeast Asian location on August 16, 2025, at LG Floor unit 1-16A within the country's premier Japanese lifestyle shopping destination. Founded in Osaka in 1994, this beloved variety store chain originally earned its name by offering most products for approximately 300 yen (three 100-yen coins), and now brings its philosophy of adding 'a little happiness' to daily life through thoughtfully designed household goods that occupy the perfect middle ground between discount chains and premium lifestyle brands.
The expansive 400-square-meter store showcases 3COINS' comprehensive product range including portable desks, interior decorations, food containers, kitchen utensils, stationery, bedding, bags, wallets, USB cables, portable fans, and the dedicated Chico collection of hair accessories. Each item reflects Japanese design sensibilities through simple, stylish aesthetics presented in soft color tones reminiscent of MUJI's approach, while maintaining moderate pricing that makes quality lifestyle products accessible to Malaysian consumers seeking functional beauty for their homes and daily routines.
Located within LaLaport BBCC's carefully curated selection of exclusive Japanese brands alongside 9090, comcoca, and WEGO, 3COINS provides Malaysian shoppers with authentic Japanese retail experiences while exploring the mall's comprehensive offerings across 400 stores. The brand's presence in this flagship lifestyle destination reflects Malaysia's growing appreciation for Japanese design philosophy and lifestyle culture, offering customers access to thoughtfully crafted everyday essentials that bring joy and functionality to modern Malaysian living in Kuala Lumpur's dynamic Bukit Bintang district.

I came here specifically to see if there was much of a difference from the Japanese version, but the music was disappointing. My first Malaysian location should have a Japanese feel, and not play Malay music. The selection was quite limited.

Prices are all in Japanese yen, making it feel like Japan. However, I checked with chatgpt and learned that it's illegal to list prices in Malaysian stores without ringgit. I urge businesses to correct this immediately; if political parties exploit this for publicity, they could get into serious trouble.

I went to this Japanese shop 3COINS kat Lalaport and seriously, best experience weh. There are so many unique and cute things for home goods, work goods, carpets, slippers. Some of the things I never even thought I needed, but once I saw it, I immediately felt like buying it. The fun part is the price tags are all in Yen (Japanese price), then at the shop there is a board showing the conversion straight to Ringgit. So while shopping, you can check the prices in RM and at the same time feel like learning a little about Japanese currency too. Best crazy! Prices are reasonable, all design items are aesthetic, colors are old. The whole vibe of the shop is on point, it feels like shopping in Japan all the time. Definitely worth going if you're looking for cheap, beautiful and unique items.
